A strong partnership for World Healthy Life Week

The Healthy Heart Trust is joining forces with the Fellowship of Postgraduate Medicine for World Healthy Life Week 2023.

The Fellowship is supporting every aspect of the Week in an important partnership between two long-standing organisations, that will see the launch of World Healthy Life Week on October 30th.

The Healthy Heart Trust was established in 1996 (as the Cardiovascular Research Trust). Its mission is to promote healthy heart living and the prevention of cardiovascular disease through education, outreach and policy. It is the home of World Healthy Life Week and the Art of the Heart Awards.

The Fellowship of Postgraduate Medicine came into being through the amalgamation of two organisations, the Fellowship of Medicine and the Postgraduate Medical Association. It was founded to meet the increased demand for training civilian medicine that followed the end of the World War I. It originally had a pioneering role in co-ordinating and providing an impetus to the development of postgraduate medical education in London and throughout the United Kingdom. It remains active in supporting postgraduate medical education and research through its two journals and through holding and supporting conferences, workshops, debates and other activities.

In 2023, World Healthy Life Week is taking place between Monday October 30th and Sunday November 5th 2023, and the theme is “Health Inequalities: Towards Cardiovascular Health Equity”. A series of international webinars is at the heart of the Week’s activities to enable the exchange of knowledge on the evidence of promoting health and preventing illness and inspire people and decision-makers to take positive action to protect heart health.

World Healthy Life Week is also the home of the ‘Art of the Heart’ Awards, an International Competition for works by young visual artists which Illustrate Matters of Health and Illness Related to the Heart or Circulation.
